Experience a captivating showcase of Black dance, spanning from traditional African rhythms to contemporary hip-hop, performed by talented local artists.
The Juba Dance Ensemble is a collective of Local Black Artists celebrating Juneteenth, Black creativity, and Katherine Dunham through the artform of dance under the direction of Crystal Newson. Juba dance will be capturing the stories of Black dance history, culture and exploring the meaning of “Black Joy.” You will experience a captivating showcase of Black dance, spanning from traditional African rhythms to contemporary hip-hop beats, performed by well rounded dancers of Chattanooga.
