Kayak polo is a competitive game with the objective to pass a ball to teammates in order to advance the ball down the pool to ultimately score points in the other team’s goal, similar to traditional water polo, soccer, and ultimate frisbee. These sessions are friendly for beginners as well as advanced kayakers.
Due to the fast-paced nature of the game, all players should have some experience in effectively maneuvering a kayak. Whitewater kayaks are recommended however, participants with recreational kayaks are also welcome to participate.
Bring your own equipment as loaner boats and helmets are limited and first come first serve. Personal boats must be very clean of debris.
Prior to play, participants will be briefed on safety and the rules of kayak polo. Teams consist of up to eight players and are matched based on skill sets.
Pre-registration is recommended as loaner equipment is limited, but not required. Arrive a few minutes early for orientation.
