NPS Battle of Chickamauga Interpretive Canoe Tour- West Chick

Join Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park in partnership with Outdoor Chattanooga for a FREE, 3.5 hour guided canoe tour to explore Chattanooga’s Civil War waterways on the West Chickamauga Creek, as an interpretive National Park Ranger provides a historical narrative of the rich Civil War history associated with one of the most famous battles of the war – The Battle of Chickamauga.

The National Park Partners sponsor these free events to give visitors the opportunity to paddle the meandering waters of West Chickamauga Creek to learn about the rich Civil War and American history associated with Lookout Mountain and Moccasin Bend from a National Park Ranger and historian.  Outdoor Chattanooga provides the on water instructional guides and equipment.

The following reservation and paddler requirements must be met prior to tour participation.

Directions to the launch site will be provided with a reservation confirmation.

PADDLER REQUIREMENTS

At least one “adult” (18+) must be in each boat.

Children must be at least 10 years old.

No experience is necessary.  Equipment and instruction provided.  Lifejackets provided and required.
