Reimagining Broad Street | Hands-on Workshop

by

River City Company

@

5:30-7:30pm

What is your vision for the future of Broad Street? Join River City Company to share ideas and work together to collectively shape the details of the plan!

What would you change about the current layout of Broad Street?

How can the street be better designed to serve and connect Downtown and surrounding neighborhoods?

How can the street space welcome all modes of transportation (walking, biking, shuttle users, cars)?

Join River City Company in partnership with the City of Chattanooga, the Chattanooga Design Studio & Dover Kohl to participate at a fun, interactive night where you will help the planning team to quickly dive into the details of the plan and inform specific actions to create the short and long-term transformation of Broad Street!

This evening session is the centerpiece of a week-long charrette and will be interactive, informative, and essential to building consensus and gathering input. This session will include a brief presentation to familiarize participants to the project, followed by a mapping and visioning activity.

Doors will open at 5pm; refreshments will be provided. Following the Hands-on Design Session, participants are invited to walk through the Tennessee Aquarium’s River Journey building and enjoy the various exhibits and displays.

WHAT IS A CHARRETTE?

A charrette is a multi-day public engagement process designed to collect input and establish a community vision. The process is highly collaborative, where members of the planning team are able to directly interact with the community in a variety of meeting formats and events to identify priorities and test ideas.
