Chattanooga Theatre Centre are kicking off their 99th season with one of the best-loved musicals of all time! This uplifting musical, the final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein, follows an exuberant postulate who serves as governess to the seven children of the imperious Captain Von Trapp, bringing music and joy to the household in 1938 Austria. But as the Nazis take hold of the country, Maria and the entire Von Trapp family face danger and intrigue. Featuring a trove of cherished songs, including “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “My Favorite Things,” “Do Re Mi,” and the title number, THE SOUND OF MUSIC has won the hearts of audiences worldwide, earning five Tony Awards and five Oscars.
