Reflection Riding Arboretum & Nature Center
Join Reflection Riding for a special outdoor screening of Un Nuevo Pasado (Someday Soon) and a celebration in honor of Hispanic Heritage month!
Co-hosted by Resilient Story and Latinos of Chattanooga, join us at Reflection Riding for a special outdoor screening for the English premiere of Un Nuevo Pasado (Someday Soon), a captivating documentary that explores the immigrant journey of longing, loss, grief, and hope. Local filmmaker Pablo Mazariegos of Resilient Story made this film to explore the question of why so many of Guatemala’s youth are migrating to America on their own, a question he was often asked. Pablo searched for the answer by starting with his immigration past, returning to the border to revisit his journey to America before attempting to share another immigrant’s story on film. This film allows its viewer to foster a genuine connection between Chattanooga’s Guatemalan immigrant community and locals through shared human experiences.
Complete with live music, a delicious Guatemalan culinary experience, tours of our blooming lower meadows, and the film screening, it will be a fun-filled celebration, perfect timing for the first day of Hispanic Heritage Month!
