Chattanooga's Top Spots for Remote Work

November 6, 2024

As remote work has become a norm today, more and more professionals are seeking out the perfect spots to set up their laptops and get down to business. Chattanooga is a city that embraces the remote work lifestyle. Landing second place nationally (right behind Boise) for remote work didn't happen by accident. Our Gig City's blazing-fast internet and welcoming spaces have turned us into the Southeast's remote work capital. So, we decided to make a list with some of the best places to work remotely in Chattanooga. Let's walk you through our favorite spots where the magic happens.

Cafes:

Rembrandt's Coffee House

If you're looking for a cozy and inviting atmosphere, Rembrandt's Coffee House is the perfect spot. We've spent more mornings than we can count in this Art District gem. With its warm lighting, comfortable seating, and delicious coffee, this cafe provides a welcoming environment for remote workers. Plus, their menu features a variety of tasty snacks and light meals to keep you fueled and focused. Pro tip: their almond croissants are literally life-changing - perfect for that mid-morning motivation boost!

Niedlov's Bakery & Cafe

Located in the heart of the Southside, Niedlov's offers more than just their famous artisanal bread. The cafe's industrial-chic setting, complete with exposed brick walls and plenty of natural light, creates an ideal workspace atmosphere. Their reliable WiFi and abundance of power outlets make it a practical choice for remote workers. Try to arrive before the lunch rush to secure a prime spot. Their breakfast sandwich on housemade sourdough is worth waking up early for

Stone Cup Cafe

Perched on Chattanooga's North Shore, Stone Cup offers one of the best views of the Tennessee River and Walnut Street Bridge. The two-story setup provides different working environments - the upstairs tends to be quieter and better suited for focused work, while the downstairs has more of a social buzz. Their patio is a hidden gem for outdoor working sessions, weather permitting.

Mean Mug Coffeehouse

With three locations, Mean Mug has established itself as a remote worker's haven. The spacious layout ensures you won't feel cramped, and their commitment to supporting local artists means you'll be working surrounded by rotating art exhibitions. Their cold brew is among the best in town, and they offer gluten-free options. The North Shore location's back patio is particularly lovely for those who prefer working outdoors.

Cadence Coffee Company

Tucked away in the heart of the Innovation District, Cadence has become our go-to spot when we need to hunker down for some serious work time. The WiFi here is as reliable as their espresso shots (which, trust us, is saying something), and they've mastered that tricky balance between "lively enough to keep you awake" and "quiet enough to focus."

Be Caffeinated

This North Shore favorite stands out for its minimalist design and distraction-free environment. The large windows provide excellent natural lighting, and their custom-built tables are perfectly sized for laptops and notebooks. Their specialty coffee drinks and rotating selection of local pastries keep regulars coming back.

Peet's Coffee

Look, we know what you're thinking - a chain? In a city full of craft coffee spots? But hear us out. Peet's has quietly become one of our reliable remote work spots. What makes Peet's work-friendly? First off, their WiFi. We've never had to do the frustrating reconnect dance here. The seating is actually designed for people who plan to stay a while - proper table height, comfortable chairs, and enough space to spread out your laptop, notes, and that emergency chocolate bar.
