This year has brought plenty of new and exciting things. New restaurants in Chattanooga are among them. Below is the list of brand new non-chain restaurants that opened recently in the Scenic City.
Spanglish Modern Mexican
Spanglish Modern Mexican is a destination born of a unique vision, a fresh take on authentic Mexican cuisine with a modern twist, serving both classic and unique dishes in a stylish and sophisticated atmosphere. They opened their doors in September and gained much popularity and love from the locals.
Using the highest quality ingredients, smoked to perfection, the Real Good Smokehouse team promises every bite will be as smoky, savory, and satisfying as the last. They state, no matter what your taste is, they will make barbecue so good you want to take it home with you. Come taste it yourself.
Wooden City
September brought us great drinks, comforting American cuisine, and sincere hospitality in the heart of downtown Chattanooga. Except for delicious meals, they are also good at supporting the community. They have Draft Old Fashioned donation program where they donate $1 of every Draft Old Fashioned they sell.
TailGate Brewery
A fiercely independent Tennessee craft brewery and pizzeria from Nashville opened their doors at the former Terminal Brewhouse location. TailGate Chattanooga is home to their Belgian & farmhouse-style production facility, in one of Scenic City’s most historic buildings. Try their 30 beers on draft and scratch pizza kitchen!
Amada Tapas & Wine
Amada is a new tapas and wine bar on the south side of downtown Chattanooga. The restaurant was founded by local Chattanoogan, Amanda Trotter, and her mother, Gayla Trotter. Amada serves traditional Spanish plates that honor the seasonal, local ingredients of the area while celebrating southern simplicity and hospitality.
A fast-casual Mexican barbecue restaurant located at 7655 East Brainerd Road. It is also a great catering option.
Honey Seed
Authentic, made-from-scratch dough is at the heart of Honey Seed’s menu for hand-rolled, Montréal-style bagels and woodfired, thin-crust pizzas. Located in Southside Chattanooga, Honey Seed is open daily serving fresh, made-from-scratch ingredients for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. Sip Mimosas on the patio, enjoy the taste of local distilleries and breweries, or cozy up inside with a latte and your favorite book.
Clever Alehouse
Settle in for a quick bite, a long conversation, or a drink after a long day at work, or grab some food for your family at home.
La Santa Mexican
Opened in November 2022 in former Pablano’s space, La Santa Mexican offers more traditional Americanized Mexican food like chips and salsa, burritos, tacos, and fajitas, but also with things like a rib-eye steak.
Volcano Korean BBQ
Autumn 2022 brought us plenty of new restaurants in Chattanooga. Volcano Korean BBQ is one of them. The first All You Can Eat Korean Barbecue restaurant in our city. So, how much can your belly fit?
Whiskey Cowgirl
A new country music bar and restaurant complete with a swimming pool, mechanical bull, and live music. The atmosphere is really unique: walls are decorated with murals and art installations of country music icons, indoor and outdoor pools. Sound like an experience to try.
Portofino's Greek and Italian Restaurant
Chattanooga’s Family owned and operated Greek and Italian Restaurant moved to Ringgold Road. Homemade family recipes featuring a large Greek wine list. Here at Portofino’s, they take pride in being a “One of a Kind” restaurant with not just great food but a “Homey” atmosphere that will keep you coming back for more!
In 2022, Market South changed its food hall concept. Now you can see Five Wits Table and Tap and Egg Man Bagelry there. Three established restaurants, a coffee, cocktail, wine, and vinyl shop, and a chef incubator concept will inhabit the space. Think Indian street food, Pizza al Taglio, and an Asian fusion wok-focused eatery in the front to start the hall off. A wide array of beers will fill the indoor/outdoor brew hall.
