Siskin Health & Fitness Center

Siskin Hospital is a non-profit, freestanding Hospital dedicated exclusively to physical rehabilitation and offers specialized treatment programs in brain injury, amputation, stroke, spinal cord injury, orthopedics, and major multiple trauma.

The Siskin Health & Fitness Center opens a world of fitness possibilities for those who have a disability or may need a little more attention when they exercise. Designed with ease of movement in mind, they provide more space in between equipment than the standard fitness facility. The spacious layout allows for safer mobility throughout the entire facility.

Architecturally, there are a limited number of doors, making it easier for everyone to move around. The entire facility is handicap accessible, including restrooms that feature automatic water faucets. There are several family changing rooms that provide a space for those who might need assistance dressing. Transitions from floor surfaces are smooth, making it easy for wheelchairs or walkers to move around.

The Health & Fitness Center provides indoor and outdoor tracks, so those who may be sensitive to temperature can still walk or run indoors.

Pilates

Pilates focuses on strengthening the core muscles, improving muscle control, coordination, strength and tone, as well as alignment and breathing.

Yoga Classes

Gentle Yoga is designed to be adaptive for all levels of yoga interests and focuses on stretching and relaxation techniques for the mind and body. VinyasaYoga, often referred to as Flow Yoga, allows you to string postures together so that you move from one to another seamlessly, using breath. You will develop a more balanced body as well as brining consciousness to each movement in each moment.

Strength Training (Whole Body)

This class offers a full body workout that targets all of the major muscle groups, including the integration of strength and stretching exercises.

Movin’ & Groovin’

The whole idea of circuit training is to work different muscles, all at the same time with a minimum of rest. Because you alternate which body part you’re targeting, one muscle group rests while the other is working.

SWEAT & Release

High-intensity class to burn calories and build strength by mixing in light cardio, weights and circuits, ending with a light stretching session. Burn more, go harder, and push into your next level of fitness.
